Windows 10 is dead; long live Windows 10

As of Tuesday Microsoft officially pulled the plug on Windows 10. Its successor was released four years ago, and by now you (and I) should have made our way to it. Windows 10 is, after all, a decade old, so it's ancient technology at this point. I haven't updated, though, and I don't plan to until I build myself a new PC, and that's whomst knows how far away.

Use Task Scheduler to add admin-privilege startup items

Windows prevents things that need admin permissions from running with normal startup methods ⸺ like adding a shortcut to an app to the startup folder within the Start menu. To force it to happen anyway, you'll instead need to load up the Task Scheduler and create a task that runs the desired app with the highest privileges available.
